Chubasco Nassau Sportfishing Charters fleet consists of four sportfishing yachts, all fully equipped for Sportsfishing, Snorkeling, Sightseeing and Island Picnics. Chubasco III a 48' Hatteras and Chubasco IV, our 46' Post, are our two air-conditioned sportsfishing yachts. Both of these yachts provide all the comforts of home while in search of the big one or on just a laid back sightseeing, snorkeling, beaching charter. Chubasco III and Chubasco IV have fly bridges, large fishing cockpits and comfortable air-conditioned interiors. Both yachts can comfortably accommodate up to 8 persons for fishing and up to 12 persons for Sightseeing, Snorkeling and Island Picnicking. Chubasco V is one of our newest additions, it is an air-conditioned 36' Tiara. With a Marlin Tower, large fishing cockpit and a comfortable air-conditioned interior, Chubasco V can comfortably accommodate up to 5 persons for fishing and up to 6 persons for sightseeing and snorkeling. Chubasco VI is our newest addition, it is an air-conditioned 38' Hatteras Express. With a Marlin Tower, large fishing cockpit and a comfortable air-conditioned interior, Chubasco VI can comfortably accommodate up to 6 persons for fishing and up to 8 persons for sightseeing and snorkeling. Value for money, Chubasco V and Chubasco VI are two of the best sportfishing yachts offered in Nassau and Paradise Island at the moment.
Nassau and Paradise Island are ideally located for sportfishing. Our sportfishing boats are fishing within 15 minutes of leaving the dock and are often hooked in to fish within 30 minutes. Clients, accustomed to traveling 30 and 40 miles offshore, find it hard to believe that 1/4 mile off the harbour entrance a school of flying fish skim the surface being chased by Wahoo, Tuna or a school of Mahi-Mahi. To the east and south of Nassau and Paradise Island are Nassau's beautiful shallow reef-fishing waters where light tackle fishing for Barracuda, Mackerel, Mutton and Yellowtail Snappers is best. This type of reef-fishing is perfect for families with children and anglers who want lots of action or to combine their Bahamas fishing charter with a little snorkeling.
The experienced sportfishing angler will find Chubasco Charters as good, if not better than the best charter fishing companies world wide. Our record for the Nassau and Paradise Island area is untouched and we continue to set the pace year after year. A few of our fishing accomplishments are: Marlin Fishing Nassau - most marlin annually since 1988, 4 Blue Marlin released in a 6 day period (Chubasco III in July 1999). Most Wahoo on a one-day charter, (42 caught by a party from Ditch Witch in 1998 on board Chubasco III with Capt. Mike). Largest Marlin caught off Nassau in 20 years, a 10' 10" Blue caught by Reney Selby of Conn. in 1995 fishing with Capt. John-Michael on Chubasco II. New Record for Nassau Hank and Sandra Cheves land a 11' 3" Blue Marlin on May 30th. 2003. The fish was caught on Chubasco III with Capt. Mike Russell. Capt. Mike and the Cheves were disappointed that after a 2 hour 40 minute fight the fish was unforunately dead when if was finally bought to the surface and had to be boated not released. (see photo on Nassau Sportsfishing Photos page.) Capt. Mike has won five of the last seven Atlantis Sportfishing Tournaments. One of those years his total point count was 5 points higher than the other top 5 boat's totals added together.
All four Chubasco sportfishing boats are equipped with the best fishing tackle available, Penn International II graphite rods, Shakespeare Ugly Stiks and Penn International reels. Although equipped for the professional, the family and novice are just as at home with us as is the experienced angler. In fact 40% of our guests have never been deep-sea fishing before. Capt. Mike considers helping a youngster catch their first ocean fish as one of his greatest thrills. It is a Nassau fishing experience they will never forget.

Catch and Dine: Montagu Gardens Steak & Grill, 2 miles east of the Paradise Island Bridges, overlooking Lake Waterloo, join us in offering you the enjoyment of dinning on your catch. For $20.00 per person plus 15% gratuity, Montagu Gardens will prepare your catch of the day for you. Your meal will include soup or salad, your catch prepared several different ways as well as your choice of two side dishes and dessert. Montagu Gardens offers a full service bar and a varied menu for those in your party who are not fish lovers. Chubasco Charters will clean and deliver your catch to the chef and make your reservations. Montagu Gardens offers free round trip transportation from your hotel in their air-conditioned bus. Gray Taxidermy, offers a custom taxidermy service for anglers who wish to mount their trophy catch of a life time. Chubasco Charters is an agent for Gray Taxidermy in Pompano Beach, Florida and will arrange for your trophy fish to be mounted (which can also be done for all released fish).
Food & Beverages: Bottled water is complimentary with all our charters. With advanced notice soft drinks, food, snacks and beer can be put on board or you are welcome to bring your own. We offer box lunches that include a ham and cheese or turkey and cheese on a 6" hoagie bun, apple, bag of chips, bag of cookies, candy bar and pack of crackers at a cost of $15.00. Soft drinks are $5.00 per six pack, local Beer Kalik or Sands is $50.00 per case (24 bottles), U.S. Beer is $60.00 per case (24 bottles), 6 packs are 1/4 the case price. Snacks are approximately double U.S. prices.
